Travel Guide: Mount Yangew, La Trinidad, Benguet
Mount Yangbew (also known as Mount Jumbo) is a series of high-rolling hills located in Brgy. Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet. It has some unique rock formations and a 360 degrees view of the La Trinidad Valley and Baguio City. There’s only one trail leading to the summit from the jump off so guides are not required but should you need one, you can inquire at the reception. It was quite a short trek, taking only 30minutes of our time. Indeed, it is a recommended mountain for those who are looking for a quick hike close to Baguio.
How to get there?
From Magsaysay in Baguio City, take a Tomay jeepney then tell the driver to drop you off at the junction road leading to Tawang. From there, you can walk going to Tawang Elementary School, where the jump-off point is located.
Registration Fee: 30 pesos
Horseback riding: 100 pesos per round
How about you? Do you know any good place for a beginner’s hike? Let me know in the comment section below, I would love to climb more (easy-to-conquer) mountains!
